Jasper Narvaez is a professional contemporary dance artist currently based in London, working with Akram Khan Company in the production Outwitting the Devil.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Jasper started dancing Philippine folk dance at the Philippine High School for the Arts - graduating with the Artistic Excellence and the M.A.R.I.A. Scholarship awards. He continued his training at the University of the Philippines and Ballet Philippines Dance School. He later on obtained his degree with First-Class Honours at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Contemporary Dance.
He has since worked as a performer, teacher and collaborator for companies and schools such as Akram Khan Company, AURA Dance Theatre, Jukstapoz Company, English National Ballet, Ballet Philippines, Ballet Philippines Dance School, UP Dance Company, Elevate Pilates Studio HK and various other independent artists in Europe and in Asia.
He believes in telling stories, conveying ideas and concepts that could possibly affect and inspire in any way. He enjoys finding ways where the body becomes a cause for intrigue, ranging from the most concrete and literal to the vague and abstract - all within systems of explored intention and physicality.
